Stream Watchdog
For internet streamers, LPFM operators and FM stations with streams
Your stream can’t tell you it’s down, but Stream Watchdog can. Stream Watchdog runs from a separate computer and monitors your audio streams around the clock. When a stream fails, it sends an email alert so you can fix the problem before listeners disconnect.
Encoder crashes and internet outages can sit unnoticed for hours. Stream Watchdog is built to be your off-site listener with zero patience for streaming issues.
Add your station streams and let Stream Watchdog check whether each one is online and receiving data.
Get notified when a stream goes down.
See uptime, checks, failures, recoveries, bytes received, last check time, and current status of your stream(s).
Upload the dashboard to your own website by FTP, giving you a live remote view from anywhere.
Important setup note
For the best protection, Stream Watchdog should run on a different computer and internet connection than your streaming encoder. That way, it checks your stream the same way a listener would. If your main studio internet dies, your watchdog can still bark.
Like many broadcasters, I've had those moments where everything looked fine from the studio, only to discover later that listeners had been hearing silence or couldn't connect at all. I searched for a simple, affordable solution designed specifically for broadcasters and couldn't find exactly what I needed, so I built it myself.
And yes, the dog in the logo is a real dog. He originally belonged to my mom. After she passed away, I adopted him and today he's the official Watchdog of my stations, and the inspiration behind Stream Watchdog itself.
